singing at night too neon lights * Midnight dews washing their mouths cicadas * The water falling white ― the green pool * Water sound drowning them out cicadas * Welcome the spirits of ancestors Bon dance * Bon dance reunited in joy past midnight * Nebuta floating ― Mt. Shirakami into the darkness * Tachinebuta ― mountain gods floating on the dark street * Waves of prayers lighted up ― Lantern Festival * Performers spotlighted ― Lantern Festival * High up do trumpet flowers creep into the sky * High up do a troop of ants creep into the sweet * From stony earth do irises bloom the temple gate * Irises perform zazen the temple gate * Permanent snow cools the air summer solstice * The shade bathes in the water summer isle * Rainbow in the earth ― irises * Irises think differently ― the community * The soul stops on the way ― hydrangeas * Hydrangeas bloom at the gate ― the dreamland * Handkerchiefs folded on the tree ― birds warbling * The handkerchief tied to the tree ― birds calling * The skylark flying up ― Mt.
