Addicted once in my ways
I belonged to my own universe where you would be lost in my life’s maze Tuning sounds so adverse and many words thin as dust An inner void crept slowly in without my knowledge I went wild in shameless lust Forgot all about where I’ve been Pushed me right on edge All senses loosing trust And you came along perfumed in blank faith Approaching my tortured soul I heard your soothing song as you offered a hand without regret Then my heart floundered as a ragged doll Since then I’ve turned away from him Even when those malicious eyes invited me to turn back in his weary dreams Black insidious malice meaning nothing I could only dismiss the old lies and go on with my life for better means In my tortured soul, he hides Watching my every step But I no longer abide I find my whole self to be at rest As I learn of this force inside Here, there and in between my longing fest Copyright ©2007 Johanne Farmer
