I want to grab your toes, your whole foot as it slips on the green grass of summer’s eve
A drift of wind lifts the linen resting on your chest as you hold your breath I dream to own this intense look you give me as we head on a steep shore line Anything goes on Sunday afternoon when a tear rolls down on my nose Always the romantic, the enigmatic, the wild one warming my need of more ‘cause you are so more than the ladder to fantasy reaching high in the clouds I may smell onions on the tips of your fingers from your cooking Funny how it mixes with your body’s own perfume of unmeant sores Still fresh from the invasive skins, brushed unto your past unveiled wings A margin so fine in time, just a bit transcended for a roaring bliss You’ll never be mine the loud way that scares, unfair, unwanted fears Still, you charmed me in a poignant, shuddering, unforgettable kiss And I want to own you in this stricken instant which will never be back So own me too until our souls break apart and uneven in weariness A minute short to hold that print in your heart I made out of this mad love Consider tomorrow, next week or a few years, our landscape shaping A side step from old worn out colours in their unstrung ugly loneliness Something of a new walk up this alley as we choose growth into limitless cheer
